The Academy is looking to recruit a Catering Supervisor with a passion for producing healthy food. The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for providing catering services across the Academy, ensuring the highest standard and compliance with industry regulations. Working with our external catering management contractor, you’ll be responsible for ordering, cooking and serving food for students and staff across our 2 sites.
With a team of 2 Catering Assistants cooking at our main Academy site, you’ll provide daily supervision for the team in ensuring a high-quality catering provision and the transport of food to our adult residential care setting. This role is a key face of the academy to our students, so will suit a calm and positive professional, ready to contribute to our friendly and highly skilled team.
Key responsibilities:
The day to day supervision of the catering team.
Ordering of ingredients and supplies each day from external provider.
Liaising with our Catering Management Contractor to provide a healthy, varied menu within budget
Evaluate the effectiveness of the provision and obtain feedback from staff and students.
Overseeing the health and safety of the Catering team and all areas controlled and run by the Catering team.
Ordering and costing, checking all deliveries of food for quality and quantity against delivery note.
Provision of hospitality catering as required
Key Requirements:
Ability to work in a safe manner.
Ability to menu plan, work out food costings and control stock.
Food hygiene qualification at level 3 (desirable).
Minimum of a NVQ Level 2 qualification in a Catering related subject.
Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
Awareness of food allergies and intolerances.
